Set to unfold at the Nelspruit Airfield on Saturday, 11 May 2024, this year’s event is poised to showcase a dazzling array of high- energy aerobatic displays, captivating audiences from 15:00 until after-dark, culminating in a breathtaking fireworks finale. Gates open at 10:00 already.
The ABSA Lowveld Airshow is not just an event; it’s a celebration of aviation excellence and community spirit. The program boasts an impressive lineup of South African elite pilots, ready to dazzle spectators with the ultimate extravaganza in formation aerobatics. From dynamic air displays in close formation to synchronized aerobatics and gyroscopic manoeuvres, attendees can expect nothing short of awe- inspiring performances throughout the day.
Notable highlights include a performance by the iconic P51 Mustang, renowned for its speed, agility, and stunning beauty, flown by the legendary Menno Parsons. Additionally, spectators will be treated to a display by the Airlink Embraer 190 airliner, piloted by the skilled Jaco Henning, showcasing the power and grace of commercial aviation. As the sun begins to set, the legendary Harvard aircraft will take to the skies, dazzling spectators against the backdrop of the setting sun. And when darkness falls, the magic continues with amazing pyrotechnics lighting up the night sky, accompanied by a captivating 12-minute fireworks spectacle that promises to leave the audience spellbound.
