The time is now to unleash your inner-German for one of the most action-packed, family fun days of the year. The Oktoberfest, which will be taking place on Saturday, 28 October 2017, at the Nelspruit Airfield, promises to deliver not only the best craft beers in the district, but also an air show display, live music, an Oompah band and sing-alongs, competitions, a kiddies’ entertainment area, fireworks display, and an injection of the German culture which includes German food. Come dressed in your best German attire to stand a chance to win great prizes.
After the huge success of this years’ Kishugu Lowveld Air Show, which attracted over 7,000 spectators, the Lowveld Air Show committee decided to host a truly authentic Oktoberfest, which will include aerial displays.
Johan Heine, Chairperson of the Oktoberfest, says “the philosophy of the Lowveld Air Show Committee is to first and foremost support local entrepreneurs and give them a platform to showcase themselves. This committee comprises of various entities, whereof Kishugu is also a role player.” Johan says Kishugu sees the benefit to invest in the local community by sponsoring towards events like these. Therefore, other companies that share in these values, are encouraged to join Kishugu, to also become involved as sponsors.
The aim of hosting an Oktoberfest in Mbombela is to enrich the experiences of the local community. It creates a comradery among the Lowvelders to come together as a family and have an enjoyable day.
Local breweries, such as Big Buddie BBQ Brewing Co, Owl & Hare Craft Brewery, Sabie Brewing Co and Hops Hollow Brewing, benefit from this as they gain marketing exposure to people who might not have heard of them before. Other local businesses in Nelspruit are also offered the opportunity to showcase their brand at this event.
You can book your tickets online now for R120 per ticket and the first thousand customers receive a free collectors beer mug and a choice of two craft beers from our brewing partners (total value of R160). Gates open at 12:00. If you would like to become a sponsor towards this event, please phone Johan on: +27 82 456 5909.
